I agree with Temple. Any Snakepit is better than none. And if you want a paper copy you can print it out yourself from the pdf. Not a problem.

Jeff - I think that the electronic idea is a fucking brilliant one that needs to be pursued. I cannot think of a reason that this could not be done. In fact, there IS a way to HELP prevent people from pirating it also - you could just establish an FTP site and issue a password to those who pay for the issue, then that allows the user to download it from the FTP site. Even though there is no way to 100% stop piracy of anything, this would help...

In actual fact, how hard would it be to transfer pages that are in the A5 format that the mag is in into PDF pages? Let's see if we can make this a reality.... keep the ideas coming!

Page size is not an issue, a PDF can be any size. The only tricky part is having the main document be in a program that can generate postscript files, which most pro level ones can (Quark, Pagemaker, InDesign...). I don't know what Laurent is using to build the mag though.

I think PDF is a viable way to keep the mag alive. It can be published/sold as soon as production is finished, distributed worldwide for next to nothing without the hassle of mailing and its cost, and as has been mentioned, can be printed out if someone wants to do that. Printing and distribution are expensive on short run products, and this would allow an upgrade in the look (full color throughout if desired in future issues) for no extra cost.
