A night of newcomers!! ENTRANCE FREE!!

CASTLE (USA):
CASTLE formed in 2009 and released their debut album “In Witch Order” on the German label Van Records (The Devil’s Blood) in 2011. The album brought light to the newly-formed band and earned them “Album of the Year” honors from Metal Hammer Norway, as well as Roadburn Festival’s “Newcomer of the Year.” Shortly after, the band signed with Prosthetic in North America and released their critically acclaimed sophomore album “Blacklands,” which earned a nomination for “metal/hard music album of the year” at the Juno Awards (Canada’s equivalent to the Grammys). The band supported the release playing over 200 shows worldwide alongside acts including The Sword, Intronaut and Witch Mountain in addition to appearing at some of the scene’s largest festivals (Roadburn, London Desertfest). Their latest album, “Under Siege,” was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, Calif. earlier this year with producer/mixer Billy Anderson (Neurosis, Eyehategod) — who also produced their 2012 Juno-nominated release “Blacklands” — “Under Siege” pushes CASTLE‘s unique sound further with the confluence of punishing riffs and melodic passages of haunted, full-blooded madness.
Vocalist/bass guitarist Liz Blackwell gave insight on the new material: “We wrote this album in Los Angeles, San Francisco and in the mountains of Northern California. It’s a California record. We drew from the heavy sounds of those places to write electric witch hymns of death and doom.” Check them out!

HELGRIND (UK):
Thrash metal band Helgrind was formed in 2000 and after a few line-up changes have found their feet, settled the line-up and... starting building their worldwide fan base. Each member in Helgrind has brought their own style and influences, from thrash based bands like Sepultura, Pantera, Exodus and Overkill to the more rock/metal influences such as Sabbath, Purple and Rainbow. Helgrind’s style of crossing all genres of thrash metal appeals to all metal music fans spread throughout the globe with diverse melodic undertows and an aggressive vocal sound that carry the ethos of the band to higher statures and charge the band with the determination and brutality that was true in Helgrind from the beginning.
With four studio releases under their belt, Helgrind have shown a progression in musicianship and maturity in writing, but still in keeping with their goals and thrash influence. With a well-rehearsed set and hundreds of shows under their belt, the band delivers a fast, aggressive sound and has caused mayhem in the pit with their no-nonsense brutal pounding speed not for the faint hearted. If you haven’t already got one, now is the time to get a neck brace, you will need it.

FINAL DEPRAVITY (Germany):
FINAL DEPRAVITY from the Ruhr Area of Germany (known as the homebase of legends like Kreator & Sodom and most vital center of the German metal scene) have been founded in December 2007. The band came up with a highly praised 3-track demo in 2008 and shared stages with acts like Sodom, Legion Of The Damned, Artillery and The Very End. The debut album, Nightmare 13, has been released in October 2010. FINAL DEPRAVITY played more than 70 live shows since the album release with the likes of e.g. Arch Enemy, Accu§er and Warrant. The band supported Onslaught and Suidakra on the Scream For Violence European Tour (20 shows) and performed at Metalfest Germany in 2011. In June 2012, FINAL DEPRAVITY have announced Jerome Reil (son of Kreator drummer Jürgen ‘Ventor’ Reil) as their new drummer.

STRYDEGOR (Germany):
In 2005 Florian Kunde (gui./voc.), Sven Martinek (drums), Slava Giebel (gui.) and David Schenk (bass) founded the Metal band „The Alphes" in Hagenow / Mecklenburg-Western Pommerania. At first everyone started to put his musical influences into music. What followed was a mix of different styles of Metal. In autumn 2006 David decided to left the band because of personal reasons and Clemens Thieke take over the place on bass guitar. They changed their name into „Strydegor" and found their right music style - Viking Metal. The name Strydegor is derived from a nordic warrior. On 15th of March 2008 they released their first demo album titled „Legends of Midgard" on a concert with bavarian Pagan-Metal band Wolfchant. Strydegor is a non-political thinking and acting band and dissociates from political and radical ideologies!
