The vinyl box is out and looks cool...not super great but cool with the extra 73 INSIDE. Now the real thing to wait are the Cds that are supposed to contain many unrealised stuff.... and now there's a small possibiolity to see a DVD being released for 2006.... the band is looking for old footage if you have stuff.... contact me in this case... and what do you think of those upcoming re-releases?

Yeah, we have an Atheist thread in German already posted a while back. I put the Relapse-re-release-news on the board here.

As I only recently got into their stuff - that actually came about because of your in-depth feature on the band in Snakepit - there's not much to say for me but: 'Jeez, how could I've missed this band all these years!?'
Bootlegs of the 'Piece of time'/Únquestionable presence'-discs are doing the rounds here, even in some cd-shops. I've had to resort to one of these, because the originals and rele-releases of a few years back command ridiculous prices on eBay. I will buy the upcoming new discs regardless of what I already have.
At the recent Headbangers Open Air someone was even selling patches of the band, which goes to show that these brilliant technodeaththrashers may be gone, but they have certainly not been forgotten.

Would you happen to know if there are bonustracks on the original Japanese pressings?

The Japanese version never had bonus tracks AS FAR as I know.... in fact I don'(t even know if they had a Japan pressing....
The re-release Kelly did of "piece" a few years ago on the NEUROTICA label was real cool..It gave a chance for people to get that album at good price, unfortunately it all fall apart for some reasons...but now ith Relapse behind it's gonna be a shredder... ATHEIST were never just another Death Metal act.... they had so much talent in that band.I'm glad to have seen them in their hometown back in '90 with the mighty Roger...many people have forgotten about this mighty super nice dude when it comes to celebrate them.... Roger Patterson, one of the best bass player in Metal ever...same league as people like Cliff Burton....

By the way, just spoke to Patrick and he told me that you were probably responsible for the liner notes/band history of the Relapse-editions. Are you? And if so, do you happen to know if there's a difference between the Relapse-CD's and the NMG-re-releases of a few years back?

Yeah bro it seems my stuff was used on the CDs, I know I prepared a huge thing for them but I don't know yet if it was used... it's gonna be a surprise for me! What's even more surprising is that a U.S. friend of mine already saw one when it's not out yet????!!! Unreal!!!!!
As far as differences between both versions..I don't know yet either.... I think the bonus will be different but nothing certain...
