Hallo Freunde,

wir können euch nun endlich zwei neue Bands für das Hammer Of Doom 8 präsentieren zu können.

WHILE HEAVEN WEPT werden das Festival mit einer ganz speziellen „25th. Anniversary Show“ headlinen. Hier ein paar Worte von Gitarrist und Bandleader Tom Philips dazu:

„We are extremely honored…truly flattered to have been invited back to perform at the Hammer Of Doom Festival – particularly with our own 25th Anniversary on the horizon. We have been given the opportunity to commemorate this milestone the very same week the original band first gathered in my parents’ basement in 1989. With this in mind we will be taking a journey through the past quarter century via the songs our friends and fans have most requested, along with those we feel were pivotal in our evolution and some deeper cuts too. We encourage YOU to participate in this celebration (which is as much yours as it is ours) by telling us what YOU want to hear via Facebook, Twitter, and otherwise! Considering the next new album is a single 40 minute epic song, Hammer Of Doom 8 gives us one last chance to revisit our past at length as we’ll be almost entirely committed to what is to come after this – so in essence, we’ll be approaching this extended set as if it were the last concert of ours – and quite frankly, who knows if we’ll ever have a chance to create “the ideal” setlist, without compromise, again? This one is for everyone who has supported us throughout the years…thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

Maryland Doomster BEELZEFUZZ werden ebenfalls das HOD 8 bereichern. Das Debutalbum des Trios ist einer der besten Genrerelease seit langem und wir freuen uns, dass die Band ihre erste Europashow am Hammer Of Doom spielen wird.

Also we are very happy to present one of the hottest newcomers in the scene. Maryland Doomsters BEELZEFUZZ will be a part of Hammer Of Doom 8, too. Their self titled debut album is one of the best genre releases in a long time and we are so happy that they will play their first Euro show at Hammer Of Doom.

[Holy Mighty Stormwitch]

WHW finde ich nur auf dem Debüt absolut genial. Die letzten beiden Scheiben finde ich ziemlich verzichtbar, auch wenn ich hier im Board von allen Seiten Hiebe kriege... . Für mich sind Age of Taurus und Altar of Oblivion die interessantesten Bands am zweiten Tag. Ich werde die zweite Übernachtung wohl stornieren und am Samstag mit dem letzten Zug nach Hause fahren .

WHW hab ich erst einmal gesehen, insofern ist das schon ein Headliner, über den ich mich freue, auch wenn ich insgeheim auf TROUBLE im neuen Line-Up gehofft hatte.

Oh, noch gar nicht gesehen. Dann ergibt das ja alles Sinn und ich krieg vielleicht beides, WHW und TROUBLE.
Freu mich jedenfalls riesig über BEELZEFUZZ, die mich mit dem Album echt ziemlich umgehauen haben.

Ich würd gerne noch eine extremere Band machen...so wie Necros Christos oder Asphyx damals....habt ihr da ein paar Favoriten, Ideen? Ich hab da was im Hinterkopf, hätte gerne aber noch etwas feedback..

HOODED MENACE fand ich bisher ziemlich cool bei dem, was ich so gehört habe.
THE VEIN böten sich natürlich an, weil die Musiker ja zumindest teilweise sowieso schon da sind, sonderlich extrem find ich die, bis auf den Gesang, aber nicht.

Und gleich kommt bestimmt der Ghoul und fragt nach CYANIDE.

Triptykon währe der Hammer aber wohl eher für einen Headliner slot.

TRIPTYKON haben ja schon auf dem MA gespielt, wären natürlich trotzdem toll.

Ansonsten würde ich gerne noch die Finnen KRYPTS in den Ring werfen, "Unending Degradation" ist eines der wenigen Death Metal Alben, die ich dieses Jahr so richtig toll finde.

Abgesehen davon, dass sie vermutlich deutlich zu teuer sein dürften: wären ENSLAVED musikalisch noch im Rahmen dessen, was zum HOD passen könnte?
