Nö...kein Witz
“Unleash the Fire” drops today in Japan as well as all the Asian territories and we are excited and a little overwhelmed with heavy emotion at this time. This is a very important time in the band's 30 year plus existence. As you know this is our first release since the passing of our great leader Mark Reale. We have come a long way and were not sure about the future of the band but continuous support from our fans, labels, media and Family including Mark's father ,Tony Reale we forge ahead in Riot and Mark's honor.
We have literally put, not to sound cliché, blood, sweat and a lot of tears into this new release. We feel we are doing the legacy justice and have spent many hours, days, months and years putting this back together.
Thank you for believing as we saw your support at all the Festivals we played this year. Japan has always stood by us no matter what as you can tell as there release doesn’t have the “V” on the cover because the re-signing was so quick before we started writing and recording again and decided to add it and Josh Block (Virgin Steele/ Andy Sneap engineer) produced this version. We thank you Naohiro and Yoshi at Avalon/ Marquee for believing in us and wrote a song called “Land of the Rising Sun” for there great country and next time it will have the RIOT V. The release for America, Canada and European territories via the great Olly Hahn at SPV/ Steamhammer is in mid-October and will have the “V” obviously because we had a lot more time for things and had the great artist from Poland Mariusz Gandzel add the “V” and “Immortal Soul” producer Bruno Ravel (Danger Danger/ Westworld) turns the knobs on this one. We were so concerned with the final product that we have 2 producers and many hours of finalization mixing being done because we were being very picky so each release will be a little different in sound as well as added parts!
We pay tribute to Mark on this release with a forward from the great Kerrang writer Malcolm Dome and song tributes from bassist Don Van Stavern with his song “Immortal” and guitarist Mike Flyntz with his song “Until We Meet Again” which features Mark speaking and infectious laughter at the end that brought us all to tears including producers Bruno Ravel and Josh Block and were sure it will touch you the same way too.
So Don, Mike, Todd Michael, Frank and Nick, RIOT V, thank you for undying years of support and hope you enjoy our latest release. Take a moment of silence, a shot of Tequila, and look towards Mark and the Heavens above then turn it up to 11 and may the music make you smile, headbang, rock out but most importantly Shine On!
