Ich hab mir bisher alle Steve Wilson Remix Rerelease Boxen gekauft und werde auch hier zuschlagen. Mehr value for money geht nicht, wie ich finde.

So sieht's aus! :yeah:

Wobei zu erwähnen ist, dass die Version, die neu gemixt wurde, nicht das originale Album ist, sondern eine alternative Version, die die Band damals für einen TV-Auftritt eingespielt hat,, der auf der DVD auch dabei ist. Die Bänder des Originalalbums waren wohl teilweise nicht mehr auffindbar und die alternative Version ist bisher unveröffentlicht. Anscheinend durfte aus rechtlichen Gründen für den Fernsehauftritt nicht die Albumversion als Playback benutzt werden und so hat man das komplette Album nochmal eingespielt.

Jetzt muss ich mich auch noch verspätet einklinken und meine Begeisterung über "Homo Erraticus" verkünden. Nachdem ich erst 'nur' die Download-Promo hatte, besorgte ich mir vor zwei Wochen die Buch-Edition, so dass ich auch endlich mal in Ruhe die textliche Seite auf mich wirken lassen konnte. Neben der über weite Strecken sehr schönen Musik finde ich gerade die Einbettung der Stücke ins Albumkonzept bärenstark. Klar, dass wieder der Herr Bostock bemüht wird und lange Aufsätze schreibt, ignoriere ich einfach. Im Gegensatz zu den sonst so Personen-zentrierten Konzeptalben steht hier ja die Geschichte Englands in den letzten 10000 Jahren im Mittelpunkt. Die Figuren sind bestenfalls Rollen bzw. häufig schimmert eben der Sänger selbst durch. Die gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen sind nie rein positiv oder negativ, sondern in ihrer (nachträglichen) Unvermeidlichkeit die perfekte Ergänzung der nachdenklichen Harmonien von "After These Wars" und "New Blood, Old Veins". Bei TAAB2 tat ich mich mit dem Zusammenspiel von Text und Musik ungleich schwerer.

Ein weiteres Highlight finde ich die trocken-witzige Einleitung der Bonus-CD. Die Demos selbst sind nett, weil sie einen Einblick in den Entstehungsprozess geben. Auch wenn die Band nicht immer sooo organisch im Zusammenspiel klingt (v.a. die Metal-Gitarren, so leid mir das tut), ist das eigentliche Album ungleich unterhaltsamer. Ein paar schwächere Nummern kann ich gut verschmerzen.

Und der Steve Wilson Stereo-Mix ist immer sau gut. Da lohnt sich auch notfalls später die einfache billo-CD als Ergänzung zum ollen Vinyl.

Das Buch befindet sich seit ein paar Wochen in meinem Besitz, und seitdem ich es (schon zwei Mal) gelesen habe, bin ich mal wieder komplett in die Geschichte dieser doch recht einzigartigen Band eingetaucht. Ich höre mich seit Wochen durch die gesamte Diskographie, lungere mit Streunern auf der Straße herum, blätter bei einer Tasse Tee in der St. Cleve Chronicle Zeitung, kümmere mich um Hof und Pferde, schaue von der Gallerie auf die tanzende Meute hinab, plausche mit Ray Lomas über die alten goldenen Zeiten, wärme meine Hände am Lagerfeuer mitten im Wald. Hach, wie herrlich....

...ach, eigentlich alles. Naja, fast. Bis zur Broadsword gehe ich komplett mit, dann wird es etwas anstregend, da zu weit weg vom vorherigen Kernsound. Wobei aber immer noch vereinzelt starke Songs erschaffen wurden und ich da eigentlich auf keine einzige Platte verzichten will. Diese Band hat(te) einen überaus reichhaltigen Fundus ans phänomenalen Songs und es ist ein riesiges, soannendes Abenteuer, sich da durchzuarbeiten...ich liebe es!! Ach ja, die letzten zwei Ian Anderson Scheiben finde ich dann wieder spitzenklasse!!

SENSATIONELLE BAND!!!!
