Die Band hat sich sehr gefreut, kann es aber nicht so richtig lesen. Daher gibt es ausnahmsweise eine englische Version, obwohl mein Englisch doch recht angestaubt ist:
Review: Forgotten Legacy - The Oracle (English version)
They found themselves about a year ago and already the first self-produced five-song CD has been released. Often this goes wrong. But not with Forgotten Legacy of Kingston in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. Even a quick view at the band's homepage shows, Forgotten Legacy are no beginners. Bassist Chuck Donahue and guitarist Mike Johnson are connected with the U.S. metal band "Beyond Fallen". Certainly, this reference is not the worst one. But musically, Forgotten Legacy are much more harder.
"The Oracle" offers exactly that kind of music, with “Sacred Metal” Fans can click their tongues: U.S. Power Metal with progressive elements, including light unmistakable impetuousness. All respective arrangements are very diverse and compact as well. Several passes of the CD are necessary before things open up completely. Singer Joel Wood is the crucial point. He is perfectly screaming, but sings as powerful in other registers. His vocal flexibility is very appealing and definitively built for US metal. His comrades-in-arms are equal in every way. And we have to emphasize the truly impressive guitar playing.
Already the first song "2012" is a declaration about, where the hammer hangs. At the beginning somebody could think to listen to a little bit of the old Queensryche. But this impression vanishes quickly when the accelerator pedal is being pressed to a slightly kind of Thrash Metal. For the remaining four songs, the bar is damned high now. The following "Rage" easily goes over it, although there is still a trace more of wildness and playfulness. With "Cimmerian" the band put some more shovel on. Here, Forgotten Steel exaggerates a little bit. The following "The Darkness" is an invitation to relax from the preceding power. At the end the ballad "Forgotten Legacy” is being presented. Already this brilliant song justifies the purchase of the mini-CD.
Such a debut can be recorded only if there is the right chemistry within the band. "The Oracle" comes up with very good sound for a self-production. Forgotten Legacy celebrated a grand debut. Especially fans of Helstar should place the CD in their players. One desire: Forgotten Legacy should place at least one more other quieter song on their next work. For this they have a knack for, too.
