"My friends, I want to explain you something concerning our Secret Band last friday at Keep It True. Mainly the cause WHY we did it as a secret band. Well, it all started with a little youtube clip. I forgot where I saw it, I think Ross was linked somewhere on Facebook and I saw it. It showed Ross playing a Manowar set just for fun with an all new line up. I watched the first seconds and my guts told me, that this will turn into magic if I do it at KIT. But I feared, that if I announce it like all the other bands, the new singer Mike Cotoia will not get the chance he deserves, so I wanted to have it secret, so he can convince the fans with his amazing voice. Ross Friedman was immediately up for it and i knew they would deliver the way they did. I don't know what it is, but when I watch some stuff I always know what works at KIT and what not...here I was so sure. So they went on stage on friday and blew the roof off....it was like they never did anything else....if you closed your eyes you were in 1984. So here is the clip that was the start of it all....bad clip bad sound....but goosebumbs all over...the rest is history...."

Ah, danke für die Erklärung, meine Theorie für die Geheimhaltung war ja, dass ein gewisser Basskasper intervenieren würde, wäre die Show ganz regulär angekündigt worden.

Nein, wenn ich RTB normal angekündigt hätte, wäre das siebieske ( ) Geschrei nach Coverband usw wieder groß gewesen, so hat er einfach mal alle umgeblasen und alle gingen nicht vorbelastet an die Show

Legendary progressive metal act Fates Warning celebrated the 30th anniversary of their third album, Awaken the Guardian, in 2016. To celebrate this milestone, Jim Matheos (guitar) reassembled the Awaken the Guardian-era lineup for two special festival appearances last year: Keep it True XIX and Prog Power USA XVII. Fortunately for fans that were not able to attend, each show was filmed and recorded in its entirety for the upcoming DVD/Blu-ray out April 28th via Metal Blade Records, Awaken the Guardian Live!

Mixed and mastered by Bill Metoyer at SkullSeven Studio in North Hollywood, CA, Awaken the Guardian Live also features art direction, design, and artwork by Ioannis (dangerousage.com), making this a must-have piece for any fan’s collection. Awaken the Guardian vocalist John Arch comments about the experience: “It was truly a surreal experience being able to share the spirit of ‘Awaken The Guardian‘ at these shows. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the fans that have given back so much over the 30 year span since the album’s release. To all our family and friends, much gratitude.”
