Sacred Metal-Board

Here comes another interesting and very arcane slab of classic US heavy/power metal. An anthology type of release gathering 20 demo songs recorded between 1983 - 1985 by this band from South California, which should appeal to fans of Thrust, Ruthless, Omen, Lizzy Borden, Dark Age, Warrior, etc.

Limited to 500 hand-numbered copies, with usual thick booklet with band story, lyrics, archive photos, and liner notes by Johnny Roxx.

NOTE: This cd is a collection of raw demos restored from old crusty demo tapes. If production is more important than the actual music to you, you may not like this arcane slab of metal history. Be forewarned!

The band's name sounds kinda weird in German ears.

Just a coincidence. there's nothing of that nature behind it.

Oh no, I was absolutely sure about that fact, otherwise you wouldn't have released or advertised the band's record!

My short post were only my two cents in the morning before I had my first cup of coffee.

Has that cover been a sketch for Steel Assassins "War of the eight saints" initially? If I remember correctly the sketches were shown someday and this was one of it.
But in any case it is a great artwork.

Yes, this was an early SA sketch which was rejected and Dimitar had for sale recently. I liked it too much and couldn't pass it by, so I've picked it up and it became a cover for this project.

Tobi, I understand, no problem. I did have several other people asking me if this is Supremacist/Nazi band, so I felt I need to respond. The band also put a small statement in the booklet clarifying it. It was just something that sounded mysterious and powerful to them.

Although I like the final Steel Assassin cover I already thought the pencil sketches were too good to be abandoned, so great idea to use it Iordan.

Is this really unmastered? If the visualization of the audiofile is correct this looks like a lot of loudness is involved...

Anyway, sounds like some good material. Looking forward to hearing more.

This visualization comes with the player and is more aesthetic than anything useful. The song is from the raw cassette tape rip as provided by the band. The production is bad, the cassette obviously old and crusty... there are fade-outs and imperfectons on some of the songs. This is going to be a release for the die-hard fans which genuinely care for the music.

People to whom production is more important than the actual music and not advised to pick this up. I'll have an advisory sticker on it to that effect.

To my ears it didn't sound that bad at all...but in the end I'm probably just used to stuff like this.

Fantastic Release and one of the best US Metal Demos I´ve ever heard. Especially the 1985 Demo rules. I´m still wondering why these guys never made it with such powerful compositions.

Also thumbs up for the excellent MAX PLÄNCK release!! Will there be more Red, White & Heavy stuff in the future?
